Attention all Rec families

 Hello to all,

I wanted to take a moment to explain how the early rec process works. I hope this is informative to anybody looking for answers.

  Phase One: Evaluation

Phase one of the eval process is now complete. This was the period where players were evalauted and given scores 1-5 They were then placed into groups via a draft. These are the preliminary teams and are pretty close to the final rosters but may still see some changes after phase two, the balancing phase.  Coaches were asked not to tell anybody that these are the final rosters just in case we had to move some players around to balance the teams.

  Phase Two: Team Balancing

Phase two consists of a small sample of games against our own teams . This is to ensure that the teams are relatively balanced . If they are not, we will move players around to achieve balance.

The team groupings and schedules are found under the Tryout and Rec Evaluations tab on the home page of the Website.  Once you click on that tab, you will open which ever age group your player is in and there you will find the current rosters and schedule.

PLEASE CHECK THE WEB SITE FOR UPDATES ON A DAILY BASIS DURING THIS TIME FRAME.

After all games are complete, the final rosters will be formed and posted on the site. Your regular season will begin from there.  Coaches will contact families and welcome you to the team you are placed on.

This entire process happens over a period of about 10 days.  Although i asure you there are a group of people working very hard behind the scenes to make this all happen, It needs to be a much more clearly laid out process with better communication to the families.  For that, i personally appolgize and promise that things will be better in the future.

For this weekend and next week up until Thursday. We will be using all rec ice for these balancing games.  The weekend schedule is posted now.  Monday to Thursday will be updated shortly.  There is a tab on the website titled 'Week at a glance" where you can see all game times and locations for the coming week.  To anybody that was unaware of ice times and may have missed any of those, again i appologize and hope to eliminate those types of things from happening in the futre.

If you have further questions please feel free to email me anytime at vprecreation@flyershockey.ca

Have a great weekend around the rink!
