Finance Review Committee: Seeking Volunteers

SMHA is looking for 2-3 volunteers, who are CPA's, to create a Finance Review Committee. One volunteer will be appointed Chair of the committee.  This committee will be responsible for the following:
  • Helping with the preparation of SMHA's Budget for 2022-2023. 
    • Committee Chair will be responsible for presenting to the membership
  • High level review of all team budgets before being finalized
  • High level review of actual vs budget on a bi-monthly basis
  • Review of year end financial statements, and supporting working papers
  • Committee Chair will be responsible for presenting year end statements at SMHA's AGM

Appointment of Interim SMHA Treasurer

Tara McFeters has been appointed to the role of Interim Treasurer by the SMHA Executive.

Tara has been operating the day-to-day finances of SMHA as the Director of Finance for the better part of two seasons. She intends to continue as the Director of Finance for 2022-2023 as well as taking on the Interim Treasurer position. The Treasurer term is up for election at the next AGM in Spring 2023. Tara can continue to be reached at Finance@FlyersHockey.ca for day-to-day questions related to payments and 50/50 credits, and also now at Treasurer@FlyersHockey.ca for Association-level concerns.

SMHA Seeking Goalie Gear Donations: U7, U9, and U11

A message from Rob Nurnber (VP Initiation) and Craig Foley (VP Novice):

Plans are underway to make sure our youngest Sackville Flyers have the opportunity to try Goaltending next season.

We are seeking donations of the following goalie gear in good condition that would fit U7, U9, and U11 players:
 
- Goalie Sticks
- Blockers / Trappers
- Pads
- Chest Protectors
 
If you have any pieces of equipment suitable to donate, please contact Rob (VPInitiation@FlyersHockey.ca) and/or Craig (VPNovice@FlyersHockey.ca) to arrange pick up or drop off.  Thank you!
