HNS UPDATE ON TRAVEL TO NEW BRUNSWICK - Nov 3rd, 2021

Subject: UPDATE ON TRAVEL TO NEW BRUNSWICK

Good afternoon everyone,

Following our consultations with Nova Scotia Public Health and Nova Scotia Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang, we have been advised that fully-vaccinated teams can now travel to New Brunswick for sporting events provided that the event (game, tournament, etc.) they are attending has a requirement for both spectators and participants to show proof of vaccination (POV).

Teams with unvaccinated players under 12 are not permitted to travel to tournaments in New Brunswick where a circuit breaker is in place. Please visit the Government of New Brunswick website to find up-to-date information about what areas of the province are currently under circuit breaker restrictions.

While travelling to New Brunswick for competition, all local COVID-19 protocols and Public Health orders must be followed. Our Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tina Atkinson would also like to strongly encourage all of our teams and hockey families to follow these guidelines to further decrease the risk of a COVID-19 exposure:

  • Wear masks at all times while indoors (only removing them for eating, drinking and playing hockey).
  • Always wear masks while in crowded outdoor spaces where physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Avoid crowded restaurants (and only visit restaurants where servers are masked).
  • Wash and sanitize hands frequently.
  • Avoid close contact with people you don’t know.
  • Consider shopping for essential items only.

We would also like to remind you all to follow the Rebound Plan 2.0 and keep a close eye on exposure notices from the province.

Sincerely,

If you find you are receiving too many emails with the Distribution List, please reach out to Webmaster@FlyersHockey.ca or WebAdmin@FlyersHockey.ca to have your particular subscription changed to "once a day" to receive just a summary of the emails once daily instead of each one individually. @FlyersHockey.ca Email Address (if desired)
SMHA is using Google Workplace, so we have the ability to create an email address for the team should your team be interested in having one.
The email address is a Google Account; you could use this account to sign in anywhere you can use a Google account.
This is especially handy for the Treasurer, as we will be using Google Sheets for Accounting this year.
For example, I created U9AdvOrange@FlyersHockey.ca to use as the Treasurer, and set the Bank Account up with automatic EMT deposit.
I am happy to set that up for any Treasurer (or Manager) who wishes to have an email address with the @FlyersHockey.ca domain to use for this season.
If interested send an email to Webmaster@FlyersHockey.ca and I'll set your team up.

Because it doesn't get said enough: Thank you Coaches & Managers for stepping up and volunteering.

2021-22 CMHL Regular Season Schedule & Game Rescheduling Tips

From: Matt Oxford <centralminorhockeyleague@gmail.com>
Sent: Friday, October 29, 2021 9:19 AM
Subject: 2021-22 CMHL Regular Season Schedules Now Posted

Hi everyone,

The regular season schedules have now been posted to the CMHL site. Those games should populate to your respective association team calendars.

There was a glitch while uploading the U15-AA schedules. Those games will be removed and then reposted in the next 24 hours.

There is no 'highlight' feature indicating games that are marked as TBR on the site. The game will just indicate TBA for example.

Reminder on process for reschedules. Please keep this consistent for everyone's sanity.

  • Email Subject Line: Division - Game Number - Matchup (i.e. U11-AA Game 212 - Bedford Blue Vs Dartmouth Navy)
  • Include the opposing association rep/ice scheduler so they can notify their respective team. If your association has multiple people handling game reschedules by division, please pass along those contacts. I will create a contact spreadsheet for everyone in the next few days.

NOTE - If you can provide 4 days notice or more for a reschedule date, you just need to email me and cc the opposition association rep so they can notify their team. If your reschedule date is less than 4 days notice, contact the association rep to confirm their team can play and then notify me of the confirmed date.
