Important Updates from SMHA Safety Rep Danielle Naas MacDonald:

Hello Everyone,

I hope this Email finds you well. I would like to take the time to go over some important guidelines ahead of this weekend's tryout/evaluation process.

  • Arrive 20 mins before the scheduled ice time to allow for COVID-19 Check In
  • Masks are mandatory
  • 1 spectator permitted at this time for evaluations
  • We recommend that parents/guardians tie their player's skates before entering the rink. If you do make use of the chairs inside for skate tying, please be efficient and quickly clear the area
  • Follow all Facility protocols and guidelines
U11, U13, U15 & U18
  • Arrive 20 mins before ice time to allow for COVID-19 Check In
  • Masks are mandatory
  • NO SPECTATORS permitted at this time during the Competitive Tryout process
  • Parents/guardians are allowed inside the facility to help tie skates in designated chairs/areas. Then, parents are expected to leave the building in a timely manner through indicated exit points.
  • Follow all Facility protocols and guidelines

Proof of Vaccination

As of October 4th, we will be following mandated Provincial Guidelines.

Those 12 years of age and older, will be required to provide Proof of Vaccination supporting documentation before being permitted to enter the rink.
Hockey Nova Scotia has provided clarification on who needs to be vaccinated and what the grace period is for those who have yet to complete the process.

We encourage you all to take a few minutes to read through the Provincial Guidelines so that we are all on the same page.

For those of you who are wondering where your proof of vaccination can be found, visit the link and access the CANImmunize portal. Please have your health card handy as well as the email address you would have used when creating booking your vaccination appointments. From here you will be able to access your records. This will suffice as proof for our Safety Representatives.

We would like to take a minute recognize all the Safety Reps who have volunteered their time and energy across our association. They were committed to help keeping us in the rink and we couldn't have done it without their help.

Thank You for taking the time to read this information and your cooperation going forward. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns to safety@flyershockey.ca. All the best to our players heading into evaluations.

Sincerely,

Danielle Naas MacDonald
