Reminder: Jersey Pickup is Tonight!

Did you know we are handing out 341 Jerseys tonight?!

Thank you to our SMHA Director of Equipment Alex LeBlanc for having everything ready, and to our various Division Coordinators and Helpers for volunteering to hand out jerseys. 

Here's what to expect:

• Find the table set up for your player's division(s)
• Provide the player's surname
• Initial to confirm you've picked up the jersey
• Requests for a particular number cannot be accomodated.
• A $50 fee will be applied to the account of any player who does not return their jersey following the U9 Evaluations / U11-U18 Competitive Tryouts.

PS: Tryout Groups for U13 AA/A/B should be posted tonight, and for U15 should be posted tomorrow! 

There is a leak at the Sackville Sports Stadium, and SMHA cannot use the Sports Stadium for the U13 AAA Session #3 tonight from 8p-9:30p. We are aware there are already players arriving at the Stadium to get ready for this ice time. 

This is an **URGENT** last-minute change, as we absolutely must stay on-schedule for the U13 AAA Tryouts.

The U13 Pre-Season Camp (Group 1 - Session 4) scheduled for tonight at the Sackville Arena from 8:30p;10:00p is CANCELLED (it will be rescheduled ASAP).

U13 AAA Tryout - Session #3 - is urgently relocating from Sackville Sports Stadium to Sackville Arena for an 8:30pm Start

Massive apologies for the last-minute notice, as we simply must reassign that ice to the U13 AAA Tryouts or everything will be misaligned for U13 Comp Tryouts this weekend.

UPDATE for U13 AAA at 5:20pm

NEW:

After much thought and discussion, we have decided to reassign tonight's U13 AAA Tryout ice from Session #2 - SCRIMMAGE to Session #1 - TACTICS

The originally posted groups -- Group 1 and Group 2 -- will each take 40 minutes of tonight's scheduled time as follows.

Group 1 - 8:00p-8:40 @ Sackville Sports Stadium

Group 2 - 8:50p-9:30p @ Sackville Sports Stadium  

Again - thank you to families and players for the extreme flexibility in this very challenging weekend. It is our view that this last-minute change is what is best for the U13 AAA Tryout Process. 

There will be an ice time added on the evening of Sept 20th shortly, to ensure we still get all of the scrimmages accounted for, and that the tryout process aligns with the Competitive Tryout Document.

UPDATE for U13 AAA at 1:00pm

Unfortunately, the Sackville Arena is not ready for today.

• U13 AAA Goalie Session this afternoon has been MOVED
  • Sun Sept 17, 5:15p-6:15p @ HRM 4-Pad
• U13 AAA Session #1 - Tactics this afternoon has been CANCELLED.
  • The Tryout Committee is working on whether or not it will be simply rescheduled or permanently cancelled.
• U13 AAA Session # 2 - Scrimmage is UNCHANGED and will be tonight at Sackville Sports Stadium from 8:00p-9:30p
  
  

If the U13 AAA Tactics is permanently cancelled, the weighting as per the Competitive Tryout Document would have to be modified. More to come.

The Sackville Arena has an issue with the ice quality this morning following yesterday's power outages. Sackville Arena staff are working hard to get the ice ready, and will be providing SMHA with an update by 1:30p relating to our 3:00p-6:00p ice times for U13 AAA Tryouts.

We recognize that this is extremely short notice, and thank everyone for their patience and flexibility through this entire weekend.  

Alternative last-minute options are being explored at this time should the Sackville Arena ice not be usable. We will be posting again by 1:30pm at the latest with more information.

Good afternoon Flyers Families,

Due to the Power Outages from the storm, there have been several adjustments made to both Pre-Season and Tryout Schedules. Specifically, today's U13 AAA tryouts have been rescheduled to tomorrow morning, which has a trickle-down effect across several divisions. 

Please review the Pre-Season and Tryout Schedules for all divisions to ensure you're up-to-date with your player's ice times.

Hope everyone stays safe during the weather this weekend.

I would like to take a moment to welcome our new and current families back for another season of growth, friendships, development, memories, life lessons, and most importantly fun playing the greatest game on earth.

Wishing all our players entering tryouts the best of luck. Work hard, stay positive, pay attention, and have fun. Remember, it is a game.

I would also like to thank all our amazing volunteers behind the scenes that have been putting countless hours into preparations for this weekend’s start of our tryout process. Thank You!

**Update September 16 @ 1030**- The Stadium is closed for the day today.  All U11 Preseason camps and the U13AAA tryout scheduled for today are postponed.  The Executive and admin teams are working hard to adjust and update as efficiently as possible.  Please continue to watch the tryout page and social media for updates.

**Update September 14 @ 0930**- a decision will be made and posted at 6pm today regarding sessions for tomorrow (Saturday) morning.  We will assess tomorrow and make a decision for the U13AAA tryout session scheduled for tomorrow night by 12:00 pm tomorrow.  Please continue to watch the website and social media**

SMHA will continue to assess the situation this weekend with Hurricane Lee on the horizon.  We will be closely monitoring make a decision on Saturday based on the conditions at that time for the U13AAA tryouts as well as other ongoing preseason camps.

Should we need to postpone these events this weekend, rescheduling the U13AAA tryout session(s) will be a priority and preseason camps will be adjusted accordingly.
