FREE Come Try Goalie Sessions 

SMHA is once again pleased to offer two FREE come try goalie sessions this season! 

Interested participants should bring their player gear. No goalie gear or goaltending experience required. Bring any goalie gear you have on hand, and we will also have some gear to share.

SMHA is proud to announce we have just finalized a pre-season goalie camp for our upcoming 2024/25 season.

5 Goalie Sessions at the cost of $125.00 will include the below:

• 3 Sessions with just goalies 
  • September 4, 2024 – 7:00pm Sackville Sports Stadium
  • September 11, 2024 – 7:00pm Sackville Sports Stadium
  • September 18, 2024 – 7:00pm Sackville Sports Stadium
• 2 Sessions joining in with the players (Goalie coaches will be available for instruction)
  • Player/Goalie session dates will be announced closer to September as we place based on division

In addition to the above goalie sessions, goalies are welcome to attend all 5 pre-season player camps in your division, as the players will need goalies to shoot on.

If you would like to register, please e-mail registration@flyershockey.ca and we will complete your registration. If you have already signed up for pre-season camp as a goalie, we will automatically move you over to the new goalie camp.

As this camp was just finalized, please register right away! Deadline for registration is Friday, August 30^th at 11:59pm.

Due to minimal initial interest, we are putting out an additional call for interest in the following positions. If you have already emailed us about any of these roles, we will contact you directly.

As a director, the CMHL Delegate must be in good standing with SMHA, and must have one year of volunteer experience with either SMHA or another Minor Hockey association. Please refer to our updated bylaws (Article VII- 42 M-V ) for more information. We are looking to fill the CMHL role as soon as possible.

The Division Coordinators support communications between the Executive, Coaching/Bench staff, and SMHA Players/Families. The Division Coordinators report to their respective Vice President (VP Competitive, VP Recreation, VP U9, or VP U7) and assist in all operational functions related to their division, fostering a positive hockey experience for all SMHA players and families.

Please email Melissa Berkvens at secretary@flyershockey.ca to express your interest in any of the positions listed above. Please include a short message confirming that you meet the requirements, and why you think you would be suitable for the role.

Registration Deadlines

2024-2025 Registration for pre-season camps and clinics will close at 11:59pm on Sunday, August 18. 2024.

The 2024-2025 regular season Registration Deadline is August 31, 2024, at 11:59pm. Just a reminder, this deadline is Firm.

Coach Application Deadline

The deadline for Coaching Applications for the 2024-2025 season is August 21st, 2024.

At this time, we are looking for applications for the U9 Division and up. Details about U5 and U7 Coaching Opportunities will follow closer to the start of the season.

As a reminder, Registration for the 2024-2025 pre-season and regular season is underway.

• Pre-Season Camp registration closes at 11:59om on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
• Regular Season registration closes at 11:59pm on Saturday, August 31, 2024
  • August 31st is a firm deadline for Competitive Tryouts for U11-U18. 
  • U5, U7, U9, and U11-U23 Recreation registrations can be processed manually into September, and will be charged a $50 late fee.
