Seeking Competitive Tryout Dressing Room Volunteers

As per Hockey Nova Scotia, we are mandated to follow the "Rule of Two" when monitoring dressing rooms during all sessions.

Ideally, we would have former managers or coaches sign up as they already have all required certifications in order to monitor dressing rooms.

Please see the 2024/25 Tryouts & Pre-Season Dressing Room Volunteers spreadsheet to sign up. Please note there is a second tab on the sheet to sign up for Pre-Season dressing room volunteers as we do still some spaces to fill.

We ask that volunteers only sign up if they are able to make all sessions for the division and group they are volunteering to monitor. U13AAA group lists are posted, all other division groups will be posted as soon as available.

Questions? Email Angela Pennell Communications@FlyersHockey.ca or the Division Coordinator of the group you would like to volunteer for. Division Coordinator emails are location on our Executive Members page of our SMHA website.

We will be asking for Rec volunteers as well. Another spreadsheet will be coming soon!

Seeking U9 Coaches and Non-Parent U9 Evaluators

SMHA is looking for non-parent evaluators for our upcoming U9 evaluation sessions. Evaluators will be expected to attend all assigned sessions and will not participate in the evaluation of any group for which they have a conflict of interest.

We are also seeking both Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for U9 for our upcoming regular season.

If you are interested in being a U9 Evaluator or a U9 Coach, please email Ryan Brewer VPU9@FlyersHockey.ca

Please see the U9 Evaluations page on our SMHA website for ice schedule. Group lists will be posted as soon as available.
