A few reminders and one new item:
Suggestions & Feedback
As a reminder, the 2022-2023 SMHA Executive & Board of Directors are inviting feedback from our membership via This Survey. Reponses will continue to accepted for one more week, until midnight on Sunday, July 10th. SMHA Families are encouraged to provide suggestions for the upcoming season, and constructive feedback with regards to the 2021-2022 Season. Thank you to the 19 respondents so far.
It should be noted that one common theme is Transparency with regards to the Competitive Tryout process. Some great ideas have come forward, and they are being reviewed by the SMHA Board. Our VP Competitive Aaron Hiscock (VPCompetitive@FlyersHockey.ca) is working on a process document to govern the SMHA Competitive Tryout Process. If you missed the AGM back in early June, you can review the AGM LiveStream Video where Aaron discussed the direction SMHA is taking this year. The details are anticipated to be finalized in August and will be shared on the website and in news releases. Feel free to reach out to your child's Division Coordinator if you want to share specific concerns that they can bring to the discussion.
As always, if at any time a SMHA Family has something they'd like discussed at the regular SMHA Board Meetings, please contact Melissa Berkvens at Secretary@FlyersHockey.ca.
Reminder: Registration Opens Tomorrow for Pre-Season Camp & Clinics
- Registration Opens: 10:00am, Monday, July 4th, 2022
- Deadline: 11:59pm, Saturday, August 27th, 2022
Please Note:
- The system will only allow one registration per player at a time in your cart/checkout
- You can do multiple children in the same transaction, but not multiple programs for one child.
- If you are registering the same player for two different programs - for example a U9 Player in both the Pre-Season Camp and in a Try Goaltending session - you must complete the checkout for the first program and do a second checkout for the second item.
- Spots are limited for the Clinics (U11 and U13 Defence Clinics, SMHA Checking Clinic, and the Try Goaltending sessions). A waitlist will automatically enable if/when the available spots are taken.
- Every effort is being made to have unlimited available spots for the Pre-Season Camps
50/50 Credits: Families with Multiple Players
Carried-Forward 50/50 Credits from 2021-2022 have now been linked to players in HCR. The 50/50 Credits should show up when registering your player. Questions about 50/50 Credits can be sent to Finance@FlyersHockey.ca.
There is a known issue in the Hockey Canada Registration portal related to the sharing of 50/50 Credits among siblings.
-
-
- Before you register, feel free to fill in THIS GOOGLE FORM with instructions about a percentage of your total credits or a dollar amount to be moved between siblings.
- Tara McFeters or Helen Scammell will confirm by email that the credits have been manually moved to the appropriate sibling.
- If, during registration, if you realize you need to transfer credits to a sibling PLEASE STOP and do not finish registration at that time.
- Again, fill in THIS GOOGLE FORM and wait for Tara McFeters or Helen Scammell to confirm with you by email that the credits have been manually moved to the appropriate sibling.
- When you receive confirmation that the 50/50 Credits are moved, please go back into HCR and proceed with registration. The credits can then be applied to each player properly.
- This known issue will hopefully be resolved for the 2023-2024 season.
